Brilio.net - Bika Ambon is a traditional cake originating from Medan. This market snack has a delicious taste and soft texture. It's not surprising that many people deliberately serve bika ambon at various special moments.

So that the shape is perfectly nested, the bika ambon dough is cooked using a special mold. But if you don't have a mold, you can copy this method of making Bika Ambon. The following is the Ambon bika recipe as reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @yuyun_kristia.

Material:
- 200 ml thick coconut milk
- 1 stalk crushed lemongrass
- 3 lime leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs, beaten well
- 1 tablespoon margarine, melted

Ingredients:
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 50 ml warm water

Dry ingredients:
- 100 gr tapioca flour
- 50 gr wheat flour
- 100 gr granulated sugar

How to make:
1. Put all the liquid ingredients into a pan, cook until it boils and let it sit until it cools.
2. Mix the starter ingredients, stir well then cover with a napkin for 15 minutes.
3. Combine dry ingredients, stir well. Pour in the coconut milk, stir again until the ingredients are mixed.
4. Add the yeast into the mixture and stir, pour in the beaten egg and stir.
5. Pour in the margarine that you have found. Stir the mixture until evenly mixed. Let stand for 1 hour and cover with a napkin.
6. Line the top of the stove with aluminum or an old baking pan so that it heats evenly and the bika ambon doesn't burn, then heat the mold over low heat.
7. Pour 3/4 of the mixture, wait until bubbles appear. After that, just cover and cook until cooked. Lift, serve.
