Brilio.net - Plastic teapots are beverage containers that are often used in various events and family celebrations. The use of plastic teapots is the main choice because they have a large capacity to hold drinks. The wide design of the teapot allows for the storage of water or drinks in multiple quantities.
Plastic teapots can be easily obtained in various places such as traditional markets and supermarkets. The main obstacle of newly purchased plastic teapots is the presence of a distinctive, unpleasant odor. The odor tends to persist even after washing with soap.
Removing the plastic smell from the teapot can be overcome with a special method. Sesri, a YouTube user shared her experience of using kitchen ingredients that are effective in removing the plastic smell. Before finding this solution, Sesri had difficulty removing the very strong plastic smell.
"Yesterday I bought a plastic teapot, but the plastic smell was really strong," explained Sesri as quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube/Diary Sesri on Monday (11/11).
Then he got a suggestion from a friend to use a kitchen ingredient, namely coffee grounds. He added a tablespoon of coffee grounds to a newly purchased plastic teapot. Then add water until it fills the entire surface of the plastic teapot .

"So, a friend suggested using a thousand coffee beans or you could also use 1 tablespoon of coffee, you can also use more," he explained further.
Once done, let the pot sit overnight. Make sure to close the lid so that the plastic smell on the lid is gone. After letting it sit, throw away the coffee water, and rinse the pot until it is completely clean.

Then the rinsed teapot can be washed as usual with soap. This aims to remove germs and residual residue that is still attached to the teapot. That way, the plastic teapot is ready to use and no longer smells.

In addition to using coffee grounds, apparently other kitchen ingredients can be used. You can replace it with baking powder mixed with lime. Both of these ingredients can eradicate the stinging plastic in the teapot.
"I tried using baking powder mixed with lime, thank God the smell disappeared," said YouTube/Nita Purwanti.
This method of removing plastic odor from a teapot has been viewed more than five thousand times. Looking at the comments section, there are many other YouTube users who have responded. Not a few netizens said that the video was very useful.
"Wow, this is useful, sis... I just found out," said YouTube/Kaila Chanel's mother.
