Brilio.net - Cleaning kitchen utensils after cooking oily or coconut milk-based food is a challenge, because of the remaining oil and fat that sticks to the surface of the tools. This food residue not only dirties the surface, but also causes the plate to become slippery and uncomfortable to use.
On glass or ceramic equipment, oil and grease stains are relatively easy to clean. However, the situation is different on plastic equipment, where oil and grease stains tend to be more difficult to remove. Even after washing with dish soap, the plastic surface still feels slippery due to the remaining grease.
This problem is common to many people, as expressed in a YouTube video uploaded by Fitri Ani. She shared her experience when cleaning a plastic container used for beef soto, where the fat stains were difficult to remove and the smell of cooking was still strong.
"Because the material is glass, so at first glance it looks clean. But the smell of meat can't be removed. If the container is made of plastic or atom, it will definitely be oily and slippery," explained YouTube Fitri Ani.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Fitri Ani on Monday (9/12), she has her own trick for washing plastic plates. Well, she doesn't just rely on dishwashing soap , you know.
So, Fitri uses warm water to wash the slippery plates and basins. The washing process is also simple. Just prepare boiled water, then pour it into a large, clean basin.

Fitri added cold water so that the temperature of the hot water became warm. After that, put the plates and plastic basins into it. If all the plates and basins are not completely submerged, add more hot water. Then let the plates and basins soak for five minutes.

"The reason for using warm water is that warm water is able to lift fat maximally. If you wash it with cold water, the fat on the plate will be more difficult to lift," said Fitri.
After five minutes, rinse the plates and bowl with cold water to lower the temperature. Once done, prepare a small bowl filled with dish soap. Dissolve the soap with warm water (you can mix cold and hot water).

"Warm water mixed with sunlight can remove fishy smells and other cooking aromas," he explained further.
Use the dish soap solution to wash the soaked plates and plastic basins. Wash as usual until the remaining stains, grease, and oil are completely removed. Because it uses warm water, stains and grease are easily removed. You don't need to use a lot of energy to scrub the slippery surfaces of the plates and plastic basins.

Once clean, rinse the plates and basins with running water until the foam is gone. That way, the plastic plates and basins will be drier. You can dry them first before they are ready to be reused.

In the video, Fitri further explains the function of using warm water. According to her, warm water is more effective in killing germs and bacteria that stick to plastic plates and basins. That way, plates and basins become more hygienic.
"If you only wash it with plain water, the bacteria that stick to the plate will not disappear immediately, so you need hot water to kill it," explained YouTuber Fitri Ani.
And not only that, this warm water can also reduce drying time, you know. As is known, water generally evaporates faster at high temperatures. So when using warm water to wash dishes, the surface tends to dry faster than using regular water or cold water.
