Brilio.net - The film Siksa Kubur will soon be broadcast starting April 10 2024. This film stars Reza Rahadian who plays Adil. Who would have thought, it turns out that this film is special for him, because it is Reza's comeback in horror films after 19 years of not acting in horror films again.

"Why is this special, because this is a recall, I first started out in entertainment through horror films, 19 years ago I set foot in horror films, and now I'm back," said Reza Rahadian, when met by brilio.net , Wednesday (28/ 3).

Moreover, so far Reza considers it better to take roles in other genres than horror films.

"Not that I'm against it, but if there were other things it might be better, because I'm heavy," continued Reza.

However, there is no reason for him to reject the film Siksa Kubur this time. According to him, this film is really challenging. He said that when the scenario came, he immediately felt interested because the character Adil he played was quite unique. Adil is described as a depressive figure who has suffered severe trauma.

"After reading the scenario, I felt there was no reason to refuse. The horror film is not just about people screaming in fear, but it is challenging. I like the layer of Adil's character who is depressive and traumatized," he added.

Apart from that, according to him, this film also started in a personal way. When the first meeting started, Joko Anwar as director did not discuss the story of the film. Instead, ask each player what level their mental condition is at.

"At the first meeting, Bang Joko asked all the players what condition they were in. So it was very personal. It seemed like the medium of this film would be the right medium for an inner struggle that could be profitable," he said.

Meanwhile, at that time Reza admitted that he was in a state of burnout. Not because you are thinking about the Torture of the Grave, but because you are facing something yourself. But who would have thought, through syung this film would actually make Reza succeed in getting through the stressed out period. After shooting this film was finished, the fatigue that was being faced also disappeared. He admitted that he had a lot of positive impacts, especially spiritually.

"Because when I'm tired, I have to act depressed, so the spiritual impact is really there. I managed to jump through the stress out moment. From reading to wrapping it all up, there was a lot of positive impact," he added.

Apart from that, Adil's role is also of particular interest to him. The role of Adil, who was very depressive, actually made him enthusiastic to play it. Reza even invited a discussion with a psychologist regarding this role.

This is why he is always interested in studying human behavior. So discussing with a psychologist helped him find Adil's appearance. Not just the outer appearance, but the body language too.

"The character of Adil can also be discussed with psychologists. Because actually I like studying human behavior," he added.

Then, for the external appearance, he also contributed by proposing ideas. Initially, Adil's figure would be depicted as having clean skin. However, according to Reza, Adil's depressed appearance should be made up of very oily makeup and a beard. This is because depressed people are usually unkempt.

"My problem is that it's too clean, it's too cute, so it's like life is less miserable, less burdensome," said Reza.

Since then, Adil's appearance has finally been described as someone who has a beard, thick, wild and unkempt. He also had to be willing to grow the beard for 1.5 months.

"I don't want to shave, I just want to grow my hair wildly, so it's natural, even though it's actually really itchy," he said.

Regarding the characters he plays in various films, of course they are different. However, he always disciplined himself not to bring home characters in films.

"On the set as Adil, at home I have to act as Reza Rahadian, I put Adil's character on a respectable set," he said.

According to him, if the characters in the film are carried over into everyday life, it will harm many people. One of them is Adil's character as this depressed man.

In the film Siksa Kubur, Reza was paired with Faradina Mufti. This religious horror genre film will be shown in cinemas during the Eid holiday, starting April 10 2024 to be precise.
