Brilio.net - Baim Alkatiri, better known as Baim Cilik , was once a child star whose name soared in the Indonesian entertainment industry. His cute face often graced the screen and captivated the hearts of the audience with his natural acting. However, Baim's popularity slowly faded over time.
Now, Baim has grown up. However, his life was far from the luxury that many people might imagine. He had to struggle alone to pay for his education, without financial assistance from his father who was supposed to be responsible for his support.
Baim revealed that he has not received money from his father since 2022. Although his parents have officially divorced, according to Baim's understanding, a father should support his child until he gets married or is financially independent.
"I haven't received a single penny from my father since 2022. (He should) support me until I get married, until I grow up, until I have an income," said Baim, quoted by brilio.net on Friday (6/9) from YouTube kasisolusi.

This situation was not only experienced by Baim, but also by his younger siblings. Baim felt disappointed because his father did not carry out his duties as a father to his children.
"But the problem is that I'm not the only one who isn't supported. My two younger siblings also don't get any (support) from him. I heard the news from my stepmother. The last time she gave me money was last year. The last time she gave me money was two years ago," he said.
Despite feeling disappointed, Baim still tried to carry out his duties as a child. He continued to go to school and tried to earn his own money to pay for his education.

"No matter what, he is still my father. Even though he doesn't fulfill his obligations as a father. I still fulfill my obligations as a child. I still go to school," he said.
Every time he asked for money for school, Baim's father said he didn't have any money. At first, it wasn't a problem because Baim still had money. However, every time he asked for money for school, his father gave the same excuse.
Since then, Baim has not asked for money anymore. The last time he contacted his father was in 2023 to say Eid al-Fitr. Since then, Baim has started trying to run his business. He started selling perfume and goats. For goats, he runs the business with his uncle.
"Yes, because of him I was motivated to earn money," said the 19-year-old guy.

Baim also revealed that his family's house was once sold for around IDR 1.3 billion in 2017 or 2018. However, the money from the sale of the house was not used for his school fees.
"I used to say that I saved my money for school, for my school needs. Nothing, I swear to God, now I pay for school myself," he explained.
Despite facing a difficult situation, Baim still has hope to be able to communicate with his father. He wants to have a better relationship and understand the reasons behind his father's attitude.
"I want to, honestly, I still want to chat, you know. Let's chat, talk about what's going on, tell me. Because he never told me," he said.
