Happy to be supported by his wife even though he might fail to go to Senayan, Jeje Govinda said he spent billions to run for legislative elections

Jeje Govinda, through the political vehicle PAN, admitted that he would not give up running even though this election might fail Ferra Listianti

Brilio.net - In the 2024 elections, many celebrities are running for legislative positions . Musician Ritchie Ismail or familiarly known as Jeje Govinda is no exception. Syahnaz Sadiqah's husband is running as a DPR RI legislative candidate for the West Java II electoral district supported by the National Mandate Party (PAN).

When asked about the costs incurred for campaign purposes, Jeje Govinda explained bluntly. It is said that Raffi Ahmad's brother-in-law spent billions to smooth the way for his office at
Senayan.

"Yes, you should (spend billions)," said Jeje, quoted from Kapanlagi.com, Wednesday (28/2).

However, the amount of money he has spent does not necessarily guarantee that he will qualify for Senayan. Based on monitoring from the General Election Commission (KPU) website on Monday (26/2), Jeje Govinda's provisional vote tally reached 25,501. Currently, 10,632 provisional votes have been received from 16,122 polling stations or 65.95 percent.

Even if he can't get through to Senayan, Jeje admits it won't be a problem. Even though at first he was afraid of not passing, after going through it, he felt something different which was the first time he had experienced it in his life.

"It's okay, it's also called an election. And I don't give up. At first it was scary, but then it was fun," stressed the father of two children.

Nevertheless, he said he was grateful to have received a lot of support from his extended family, especially his wife, Syahnaz Sadiqah. After voting day, the woman who is familiarly called Nanas diligently monitored the KPU website to monitor her husband's vote tally.

"He's the same way, he diligently looks at the website. It's nice for him to support me like this," said the man who was born April 22 1983.

If in the end he passes and sits as a people's representative, there are several things Jeje will do. He wants to change the public stigma that thinks that someone who has served as a member of the legislature forgets the aspirations of the people during the campaign.

"If you go in to change the stigma, many people will think that they will forget the people who voted for them and their aspirations will not be conveyed," Jeje promised.
