Reigning champions Leicester City succumbed to defeat at newly promoted Hull City,whileArsenal suffered yet another setback on the opening day. The Gunners lost 4-3 to Liverpool on their own turf in what was one of the best matches in Premier League history! There was to be another twist as Liverpool was then defeated by promoted side Burnley on matchday two. After its first threerounds of fixtures, only Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have attained maximum points.

This season promises to be a very special one. Top managers have been recruited and many clubs have splashed the cash to bring in world-class players, making the league tighter than ever before. With all that firmly in place, here are the clubs and some of the elite names you should watch out for.

Despite a slow start to the season, Claudio Ranieris Leicester City is the club to beat. The defending champions will seek to deliver such a performance yet again. With most of its superstars staying on as they look forward to embark on Champions League, the hopes are definitely high. The main question now is, can they keep up the consistency to face the pressure that lies ahead?

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is back in action, but with a different club. 'The Special One' is now the gaffer of Manchester United, hoping to add on to his Premier League title count which he accomplished on multiple occasions with Chelsea. In just a short spell, his impact has already been felt after the signings of Ibrahimovic and the worlds transfer record that saw Pogba move to Old Trafford from Juventus.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager, and the Italian is hoping to bring success back to the club after they performed poorly last season in their quest to defend the title. Their mid-table finish was one to forget, and Conte will need to revamp strategies and tactics to bring the club back to the top end of the table.

Ex-Bayern Munich Coach Pep Guardiola is another famous figure in this seasons Barclays Premier League. He is now the manager of two-time champions Manchester City, and is seeking to add a third with immediate effect. Named the best manager in the Bundesliga, will he be able to bring the bragging rights to the Premier League in his first season in charge? With a highly valuable squad available to him, the odds are looking good.

The leagues longest serving manager for 20 years, Arsene Wenger will also have a point to prove at Arsenal. The clubs last league triumph came back in 2004 when they won without losing a single match. Since that Invincibles season, Arsenal has yet to taste glory in the Premier League. Coupled with a reluctance of spending big during the transfer window, fans are starting to show off their protests. Can Arsene Wenger finally claim success in the Barclays Premier League this season?

Jurgen Klopp's impact on Liverpool may have not gone the way many may have hoped for last season. The German came into the club midway through last season and had to deal with his current squad of players. This time around, hes been the catalyst behind the summer signings, with the likes of Marko Grujic, Joel Matip and Sadio Mane aiming to propel the club back to the top four so that they can qualify for the Champions League yet again after a long wait.

It will be interesting to see how the Barclays Premier League will pan out this season. After Leicester City defied all odds to be crowned champions last season, can they repeat that feat all over again? If not, will there be another surprise package this season? Or will one of the top clubs claim the prestigious title yet again? With 36 matches to go, the title is still wide open.
