Brilio.net/en - Jakarta Police on Wednesday evening named Buni Yani a suspect for allegedly uploading the video in which Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama was filmed mentioning a verse from the Quran. However,police said Thursday he will not be detained.

"We decide not to detain him because Buni was cooperative during questioning and answered all of the questions," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Awi Setiyono said during a press conference.

"We have prevented him from traveling abroad for the next 60 days."

Buni Yani has allegedly violated Article 28 of the Eletronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and faces a maximum sentence of six years and a Rp 1 billion worth of fines.

The lawsuit, filed by the young Advocates for Ahok-Djarot Community (Kotak Adja), accuses Buni Yani of defamation after uploading and editing a video of Ahok's speech with parts of it omitted.
