Brilio.net/en - Behind every great man, is a great woman. And Claire Underwood is just that for her presidential husband Frank Underwood in the Netflix Original Series House of Cards. While the show started off with Frank, portrayed by ever awesome Kevin Spacey, being the main character and breaking the fourth wall with the audience, Claire has definitely made a name for herself. Not to mention that she has starred in all the shows 52 episodes and even directed some of them. And as the show deeper examined Claires character, the audiences began to sympathize with her. I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwoods character was more popular than [Franks] for a period of time. So I capitalised on it, Wright said on Tuesday.

Wright told an audience at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York that she had to threaten studio bosses with going public unless they agreed to equal pay which they did.

It was the perfect paradigm. There are very few films or TV shows where the male, the patriarch, and the matriarch are equal. And they are in House of Cards, Wright said, according to a report by the Huffington Post.

I was like: Youd better pay me or Im going to go public. And they did.

Well done Mrs. Underwood! Erm, we mean Ms. Wright! Hollywood has been in hot water lately with scandals about the huge gap in pay for men and women in leading roles. And this feisty actress didnt keep her silence!
