Petra Hapsari   03 November 2016 16:28 - Papua's Iyakoko Patea choir achieved two internatioanal awards at the recent Canta Al Mar - Festival Coral Internacional, a choir competition held in Spain from October 19 to 23. The choir, led by Choky Maradong Simandjuntak as conductor, was awarded the Gold Diploma Level III and runner up title with 22.70 points for the Mixed Chamber Choir category as well as a Silver Diploma Level X with 20.30 points for the Folklore category.

Mixed Chamber Choir category:

1. Stetit Angelus by Rihards Dubra.

2. Bogoroditse Devo by Sergei Rachmaninov.

3. O Beatum et Sacrosanctum Diem by Peter Philips.

4. Sagastipean by Javier Busto.

5. Pujilah Tuhan by Budi Susanto Yohanes.

Folklore category:

1. Tapare (Papuan traditional song)

2. Wor (Papuan traditional song)

3. Weane by Michael Beanal.
