However, reality is not always as beautiful as expectations. Recently, a story from a teacher went viral on social media, expressing the discomfort and sadness of a teacher who was not appreciated by his students.
Through the X account (Twitter) @atasnamakakayu, the teacher shared her bitter experience while teaching in a 9th grade junior high school. She revealed how her students behaved rudely and showed no respect.
" My students are so rude. They haven't done their assignments for the past two weeks, they're busy with practice (outside school activities). I gave them choices for the consequences, but they still keep bargaining and controlling. I asked for a change, they'll be the teacher, and I'll be the student ," the teacher wrote, starting her story.

The incident escalated when two students came to the front of the class and began to act as teachers. One of the students who acted as the 'teacher' acted disrespectfully by telling his friends to go home as if he really had the authority to end the class. The teacher could only remain silent while watching the actions of his students who seemed to belittle the role of a teacher.
" I just kept quiet watching. After that, he told his friends to pray. I also prayed (playing my role), while asking for forgiveness in my heart. I thought that way, he would realize and stop. It turned out that he continued to tell his friends to go home ," he continued.
The teacher eventually decided to record his students' actions as a form of warning. However, when he pretended to upload the video to Instagram, the reaction from the students was not as expected.

Instead of apologizing, the student snatched the teacher's phone. The teacher tried to get the phone back, but the student refused to give it back before the video was deleted.
" Even though I just wanted him to stop and apologize for his behavior. I didn't expect him to grab my phone from my hand and ask me to delete it. I asked for my phone back, but he wouldn't give it to me before I deleted the video. How can I delete it if he even has my phone? " she explained.
Not only that, the student also dared to open his teacher's cellphone to look for the recorded video. What was initially intended as a bluff to make the student realize his mistake, turned into a moment that made the teacher feel even more unappreciated.
" He even dared to open my cellphone to look for the video. Btw, I've deleted the video. I had no intention of uploading it to the story, it was just a bluff but the response was not as expected ," he added.
After this situation, the teacher finally chose to leave the classroom. With a confused feeling, he went to the teacher's room and cried, letting out his accumulated emotions.
The teacher also revealed other examples of her students trying to manage her. One example was when she asked about an assignment that was due.
The student casually explained that he and his friends were busy with activities outside the classroom. As if those activities were more important than the schoolwork that had been given two weeks earlier.

What made this incident even more painful was the student's attitude that did not feel guilty. The teacher even explained that the student who behaved rudely was smart in learning, but had a bad attitude. He regretted that intelligence without a good attitude seemed to mean nothing.
" Oh yes, this rude student is one of the smart ones in learning, but for me it means nothing if he doesn't have an attitude ," he said.

Although the student eventually apologized, the incident still left a bad feeling. The teacher hopes that his students can respect teachers more and have a better attitude in the future.
" The child has apologized, 'I apologize, Ma'am, for snatching your cellphone, I won't do it again as long as no one provokes me,' " explained the teacher.
This incident has triggered various reactions from netizens. Many were annoyed reading the experience, while questioning the politeness of today's students. Not a few are also worried about the future of Indonesia if the younger generation has minimal attitude and is difficult to advise.
