Since the first attempt of the rise in the late twenties, it has been estimated that around two hundreds of people have been found dead on the Mount Everest, of which 150 were never found (or at least never brought down or buried).
Despite the lack of communication method back then, one of the first Everests victim, George Mallory who disappeared in 1924, was found 75 years after he died, and no one will ever know if he managed to make it to the top or not.
The first who officially reached the top were Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay on May 29th of 1953. After them, many climbers followed their lead and during the second half of the twentieth century, some even went on the adventure alone or without breathing support material.
Among the large amount of people, more and more every year, some died and the corpses cannot always be found and sometimes are not reachable. The most improbable fact about the rise of Everest became how those hundreds of corpses of climbers fallen into oblivion are now serving as boundary markers Maybe some see in it a certain way to keep in mind the danger of the mountain and pay tribute in somehow to the previous courageous one that tried before? In every instance, it is still a pretty macabre rise that reminds us all that nature when not under the human kind control is stronger than us even today.
