Brilio.net - Terminator Salvation is showing in Trans TV cinemas, Wednesday (18/9) at 23.00. Terminator Salvation is the fourth film in the Terminator series, which is set after the nuclear apocalypse, namely in 2018.

This is one of the films that tries to explain what happened after Skynet, a renegade artificial intelligence system, launched a global attack on humanity. Unlike the previous three films that focused on sending Terminators back in time to kill targets, Terminator Salvation takes you straight to a future devastated by a war between humans and machines.

The film follows John Connor (Christian Bale), who leads the human resistance against Skynet. However, the story also introduces a new character, Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), an ex-convict who wakes up in the midst of chaos after being executed in 2003.

Marcus, who does not know how he came to be alive again, finds himself caught between the human and machine camps. The big question of Marcus' identity is one of the core of this story.

From the beginning, the film invites you into a post-apocalyptic world full of debris and dark shadows of the future. John Connor, known as the legendary leader of the rebellion against Skynet, has not been fully recognized as the leader of the resistance. The conflict in the film is not only about physical warfare against machines, but also concerns the emotional journey of John Connor, who struggles to fulfill his stated destiny.

On the other hand, Marcus Wright is a character who is key to the main plot. Marcus, unknowingly, carries something more than just memories of his past. He is a cross between a human and a machine.

Marcus thinks he is human, but the audience and other characters slowly begin to doubt who he really is. When Marcus realizes that his body is a product of Skynet, a moral dilemma arises: is he a tool of Skynet to destroy humanity, or can he be part of the resistance?

The development of John Connor's character in this film is a little different from the previous films. As a character who was previously a protector and survivor, here he plays a bigger role in organizing the resistance.

However, his emotional struggles are not explored in depth. More focus is given to Marcus, who adds a more complex dimension to the film. The character of Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin), John Connor's future father, is also introduced as a young teenager full of hope and potential, adding another layer to the story.

Visually, Terminator Salvation presents a dark and dystopian world. The depiction of a future full of destruction looks real with the use of quite stunning visual effects. Explosions, robots, and Skynet technology are depicted very realistically and make you feel that the war against the machines is real.

There are numerous battle scenes between humans and various models of Terminators, from the larger, lumbering T-600s to drones scanning for humans on the ground.

The action in this film is indeed one of the main attractions. From the thrilling car chase to the intense fight between humans and Terminators, this film provides adrenaline-pumping moments.

One of the most iconic scenes is when John Connor has to fight against an early T-800, played by a CGI model of Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is a kind of nostalgia for loyal fans of the Terminator franchise.

Terminator Salvation features the classic themes of the Terminator series about the war between man and machine, and the question of what truly makes a person human. With the introduction of Marcus Wright's character, the film explores the idea of identity, self-awareness, and whether a person is defined by their physical body or by their heart and mind.

Marcus is a product of Skynet, but he also has a conscience and a desire to do good, so the film forces you to think about how we define humanity. In addition, the theme of destiny is also raised in this film, especially through the character of John Connor, who is always seen as the savior of humanity.
