Brilio.net - Currently, getting a job in Indonesia can be a big challenge. The high unemployment rate, especially among new graduates, reflects intense competition in the job market. On the other hand, the large informal sector means that many people are turning to precarious work as an alternative .

One proof of the difficulty of finding work can be seen in this video. A seblak stall in Ciamis recently went viral because it opened job vacancies. This unique moment can be seen in the TikTok video posted by the account @bangsatria_98.

The owner of the TikTok account, who is often called Satria, is the owner of the seblak business. He admitted that he needed 20 employees to work in his business. However, he really didn't expect that the open recruitment would immediately be visited by many students.

In the video, it can be seen that there are probably hundreds of applicants queuing. Many wore white and black clothes while carrying brown folders containing documents for applying for jobs at the seblak stall.

Seen in the video, the job applicants line up neatly extending to the back. Really, no one thought that a seblak stall could get this many applicants. Hundreds of people will later be selected and only 20 people will be accepted.

"This requires 20 people, so we dare to open a walk-in interview," said the owner of the seblak stall, quoted by brilio.net , Tuesday (21/5).

The selection process carried out is not clearly stated. But in the video it appears that applicants are called one by one to enter a room. They were also given drinking water and snacks.

For your information, stall seblak is included in the MSME category so it is not counted as a company. So in terms of job security, MSMEs are certainly not as good as company employees. Even employees who work in MSMEs can be categorized as informal workers.

The large number of applicants as seen in the video is caused by the limited number of formal employment opportunities in Indonesia. It is not surprising that the unemployed prefer the informal sector.

According to BPS data, the number of formal sector workers has continued to decline in the last 15 years. This data is inversely proportional to the increase in workers in the informal sector. BPS shows that there will be 84.13 million people who will be informal workers in 2024. Even though there are only 58.5 million people who will work formally. Of course, the income between these two sectors is also different, with the formal sector being slightly higher.

Apart from that, the large number of applicants at the seblak stall also shows that there is a lot of unemployment in Indonesia. BPS data says 9.9 million Generation Z are declared out of school and unemployed.

The video showing the flood of applicants at the seblak stall went viral and attracted the attention of netizens. Apart from the owners, of course many people also did not expect the large number of applicants.

"Oh my God, there are so many Gen Z friends out there who need work," said the account @bobocokedjo.

"I just had the intention to resign from PT. But after seeing this video, it turns out that there are a lot of people who haven't worked. I'm not grateful," said the account @marshaaa.

"Oh Allah, it turns out there are so many people who still need work. Because finding work is difficult. Hopefully everyone, including Mr. Satria, will always be blessed with good fortune," commented the account @betyutomo.
