Brilio.net - Recently viral on social media, a man was recorded on CCTV harassing a woman with the initials L (19) who is a Pertashop officer. The incident occurred on JL Raya Sukabumi, Cianjur District, Cianjur Regency, West Java.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java (JBB) regrets the incident. The harassment of the Pertashop operator occurred on Monday, August 26 at around 15:40 by a motorcyclist who was buying Pertamax fuel.
Regarding the incident, Area Manager Communication, Relation & CSR PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java, Eko Kristiawan, said that the victim who experienced the trauma immediately reported the incident to the person in charge of Pertashop. From the report, officers immediately checked the CCTV.
"It is known that the perpetrator deliberately touched the back of the female operator's body while smiling," said Eko as quoted by brilio.net from liputan6.com on Wednesday (28/8).
From the recording, the face and vehicle data of the perpetrator are clearly visible. Therefore, Pertashop immediately reported this incident to the police. Eko said the police immediately responded to the report.
It is known that the Cianjur Resort Police (Polres), West Java, arrested Usep Mulyadi (46), a resident of Cugenang District, on charges of harassing a Pertashop operator. The arrest took place on Tuesday, (27/7) early morning. The police are still examining the perpetrator to obtain further information.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cianjur Police, AKP Tono Listianto said that the perpetrator was caught after officers saw CCTV evidence. From the recording, his party got the police number (nopol) of his motorbike, so the perpetrator's identity was revealed and officers immediately made the arrest.
"The perpetrator was arrested at his home without resistance, officers managed to identify him from his face and the number plate of the motorbike used when filling up with fuel at the Pertashop in Gekbrong District," said Tono as quoted by antaranews on Wednesday (28/8).
To the police, the perpetrator said that his actions were spontaneous and immediately squeezed the sensitive part of the Pertashop officer. At that time the officer was filling up his motorbike with fuel.
Even though he has admitted his actions, the police will still conduct a deeper investigation. Because as a result of the action, the victim immediately experienced trauma. The perpetrator will be charged with Article 6 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence with the threat of imprisonment for four years.
"We are still conducting intensive investigations, even though the perpetrator has admitted his actions, he will be charged with Article 6 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the crime of sexual violence with the threat of four years in prison," he said.
