Brilio.net - Gibran Rakabuming will soon be appointed Vice President on October 20, accompanying Prabowo who was elected President. Due to his new position, Gibran has also resigned as Mayor of Solo as of Tuesday (16/7).
When asked about where he would live after becoming vice president, Gibran firmly stated that he had no intention of living in the official residence of the vice president (wapres) in Jakarta or the capital city of the archipelago (IKN). He plans to open his official residence for the benefit of the general public.

"We will live in our own house. The official residence is in Jakarta to receive guests," said Gibran, as reported by dream.co.id, Thursday (18/7).
Apparently, Gibran has done this since becoming Mayor of Solo. The eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he had never lived at his official residence in Lodji Gandrung. Gibran only uses Lodji Gandrung to receive guests.
"I don't live in the official house (Lodji Gandrung). Let it be used for community activities. Many people are pre-wedding, sharing wifi, taking graduation photos. I myself sleep in a private house," he explained.
Previously, Gibran officially submitted his resignation three months before being appointed Vice President. Gibran submitted his resignation letter to the leadership of the Solo DPRD, Tuesday 16 July 2024 at around 14.45 WIB.

After submitting his resignation letter to the Solo DPRD, Gibran immediately packed his things in his office at Solo City Hall. This father of two children tidied up all his work equipment, from documents to toys.
The items were put in a cardboard box. There are 10 boxes of Tamiya, Lego, two Maneki Neko cat statues used as piggy banks. Not to forget, he brought an adopted cat, which was at the Loji Gandrung official residence.
