Brilio.net - As an archipelagic country, there are still many remote areas in Indonesia that still lack public facilities, one of which is hospitals. This means that many people have to travel long distances and over rugged terrain, just to seek treatment and receive medical treatment at the hospital.
From this condition, there are many extraordinary experiences from medical personnel, when they have to refer sick residents to health facilities. As recently recorded and viral on social media, a midwife is very persistent in treating her patients even though she has to face various obstacles. This midwife works on an island in the North Sulawesi area.

Through an upload by the owner of the TikTok account @dewiyanti.m, uploaded on Wednesday (17/4), the persistence of a midwife named Dewi Yanti in doing whatever it takes to be able to provide maximum service to residents who need care. The story also caught the attention of netizens and sparked discussion on social media.
Initially, the trip looked very smooth with friendly weather. However, in the middle of the journey, suddenly there was heavy rain coupled with strong winds. It was impossible to turn around, the group continued their journey.

Unmitigated, Dewi, accompanied by two other health workers, was willing to break the waves and sail the sea, using a small boat, to refer patients to hospital . Even having to brave a storm on the way.
The storm was so strong that the boat, which had the potential to take in water from outside, was covered with a tarpaulin. The health workers helped put up the tarpaulin so it wouldn't hit the patient. Several others stood guard while holding hands.
Meanwhile, patients who are sick can only lie in the middle of the boat with a blanket. Health workers also have to keep the IV bottles from falling when they are blown by very strong winds.

After having to deal with storms and dark clouds for some time, the health workers and patients finally arrived at the hospital safely. The patient, who was already in a weak condition, was immediately given action by the hospital.
Meanwhile, the health workers who were tired of the stressful sea journey immediately returned to the island where they had to serve. Even though the journey to the hospital is not easy, these health workers admit that they are used to it.
"It is a risk for us to live and work in an island area. We are used to big waves," wrote the video.

"Helping mothers and babies get safely to the hospital requires fighting through bad weather," wrote the caption in the video.
Seeing this moment of struggle, netizens were amazed by the unnamed midwives. In the comments column, netizens also gave encouragement and prayers so that it would be carried out and that health facilities and more adequate salaries could be built.
