Bali Governor willing to put an end to the reign of the gangs

Bali governor wishes to protect the tranquility of the traditional Balinese villages and to put end to the reign of the local gangs, the ormas Celia Tholozan

Brilio.net/en - According to him, there are no actual measures undertaken by the Government to take care of gangs that terrorize the island. The gangsters usually end up going to jail but according to Made Mangku Pastika, this is also not a sustainable solution. The former chief of the Bali police also agrees with this fact and recently explained:

Its better for them to go to jail because they can learn new things and meet new people. The current system is not able to give them a chance to get out of the criminal system. In Indonesia, it has become the biggest problem of the penitential system, criminals are happy to be in jail, keep on dealing drugs is possible, bully other is possible, etc. When a newcomer arrives in jail, he is immediately forced to join a gang.

The situation is currently preoccupying for the authorities because the ormas influence is growing all over the island. Thats why according to the Governor, even if the states authority and justice are necessary, it is the inhabitants that have to play a role in the gangs development by refusing their presence. It starts with the local villages.

Unfortunately, it's easier said than done. The gangs know how to develop and more importantly, know how to recruit. The number of people involved in corruption is quite high on the island. Its not necessarily because of personal interest but mostly due to bullying, terrorizing, racketing or other intimidation methods used by the ormas, and this is the hardest problem to deal with.
