Brilio.net - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for the first time spent the night at the Office of the President of the Archipelago Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan on Sunday evening. In his statement to the press on Monday morning (29/7), Jokowi revealed his experience of spending the night at that place.

Jokowi admitted that he couldn't sleep well last night. This probably happened because it was the first time he had spent the night at the IKN President's Office .

"How's it going? Eh... I'm not sleeping well. I'm just saying what it is," said President Jokowi when giving a press statement at the IKN President's Office in the Central Core Region of the East Kalimantan Government, as reported by Antara on Tuesday (30/7).

President Jokowi added that perhaps his sleep discomfort was caused by new habits that he was not used to.

"Yes, maybe it's the first time, maybe not yet, nothing, it's not good yet," said Jokowi.

In an upload on Instagram, Jokowi shared a portrait of his bedroom at IKN. The bedroom with white and brown shades gives a simple but elegant impression. A bed with white sheets accompanied by a small table and air purifier on the right and left sides of the mattress adds to the comfort of the room.

Jokowi's new room at IKN has luxurious but simple decoration. Shades of white and brown dominate the room, creating a calm and elegant atmosphere. Apart from the bed with white sheets, there is a small table on both sides of the mattress and an air purifier which functions to maintain the air quality in the room.

The IKN President's Office is no less magnificent. The sides of the walls are made of wood with a shiny appearance, giving an elegant and prestigious impression. On the wall behind Jokowi's desk, there is a statue of Garuda which adds to the dignity of the room.

Jokowi has started to try out having an office at IKN by accepting the ranks of the IKN Authority and the East Kalimantan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

"Today I met with OIKN, governors and regents around IKN. This is a warm-up. Yes, if you have an office, this is called a soft office. Because there are still a lot of workers passing through too," said Jokowi.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono revealed the reason why Jokowi did not sleep well at IKN. According to Basuki, problems with the air conditioning, aka AC, were the cause.

"Yes, it was because of the AC," answered Basuki at Garuda Palace.

Basuki continued that there was a problem with the AC machine which might make the president's rest room less cool.

"There is, yes, because the chiller hasn't been filled with water. Yes, the air is open here. But it's cold in the room, even though yesterday we had tumpeng and prayed together," he concluded.

Previously, on June 5 2024, Jokowi stayed at the official residence of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono which is in the Nusantara Capital Complex (IKN), East Kalimantan. At that time he admitted that he could sleep soundly.

"Slept very well," said Jokowi.
