Brilio.net - One of the most unpleasant things about going abroad is hearing bad news from home. Long distances make a person feel helpless and it is difficult to provide direct support to the family. Feelings of anxiety and worry increase due to limited communication and information in contacting family.
That's what the man in this TikTok post feels. He migrated to study at Jogja. The story can be seen in the TikTok video posted by the @mbyoub account.
The man named Resa claimed to be from Lampung. He chose to migrate to Jogja to study. The distance between his house and his place of study could be said to be far. Even on two different islands.

It is known that Resa's mother is indeed sick. He often sends messages to people at home to find out how his mother is doing. But unfortunately, he often activates do not disturb mode on his cellphone. So when his family called he often didn't answer.
Do Not Disturb Mode (or Do Not Disturb in English) is a feature available on various devices, such as smartphones, tablets and computers. This feature allows a person to mute notifications, calls and messages for a certain period of time, so that the person is not disturbed during activities.
However, he continued to want to know his mother's condition. Every time he chats with his father, he always receives news that his mother is asleep. There was nothing else he could do apart from accepting that his mother was sick.
"Mama goes to sleep quickly," wrote Resa
"When I was eating, I was already sleepy. After eating, I went straight to sleep," answered his father.
Routinely asking how his mother was, his father always answered and tried to calm him down. In a chat, her father asked Resa to stay focused on studying. Let the matter of taking care of the mother be the father's business.
"Just work hard at school. Mama can take care of you as well as you can. Papa often cries, but that's what he calls complaining. Papa just goes about taking care of your mother. If you think about it then papa will get sick. Who will take care of your mother," wrote his father in the chat.

One day on October 18 2023 shocking news came from home. From 6 in the morning, Resa's father always tried to contact him. However, because Resa was using do not disturb mode on her cellphone, the call went unanswered.
There was a written chat saying that his mother had now passed away. To find out further news, Resa was asked to contact her father. However, Resa's cellphone is still in do not disturb mode. Until 8.31 WIB, his father's call had not been answered.
After finding out, he admitted that he was a little regretful and had lost hope. Moreover, he felt it was too late to apologize the night before his mother died. That was because the mother's illness was getting worse.

"I swear, don't be late like me. I just apologized for my mistakes last night before my mother died. I still remember when I called her when I was really sick," he wrote.
"I only admitted my mistakes at that time. I really surrendered to God for healing my mother, and suddenly the next morning my mother was no longer there," continued the man.
This story went viral and attracted the attention of netizens. Many of course give messages not to activate do not disturb mode often. Because someone may receive unexpected news at an unexpected time too.
"The reason I never want to turn on Dnd is because I'm afraid of people at home and it's hard to contact me, especially when I'm overseas. Because we don't know about time," wrote the account @araa
"For you to draw conclusions from this, don't turn on do not disturb mode too often because we don't know what the most important thing is coming into our lives," explained the account @boobiesca
"Just like me, bro, I'm the last child working away from home, when I got the news that my mother was gone, I was really sad, bro, I still feel it until now," said the account @yanzz, telling the story
"It's true, mommy's pain is gone but I lost mommy," commented the account @itzzoeline4u.
