Brilio.net/en - Canned green beans from Western Family brand were halted from distribution after a Utah woman claimed that she found a severed snake head in a green bean can.

The disturbing (and gross) discovery was madeon Wednesdaynight (17/2) at a a Mormon church in Farmington, Utah, the US, when women and youth were preparing a meal for older members of the congregation.

Troy Walker said she was taking beans out of a slow cooker when spotted someting peculiar between the chopped green beans.

It looked pretty much like a burnt bean, and then as I got closer to lift it off the spoon, I saw eyes," Walker said. "That's when I just dropped it and screamed.

One of Walkers companion Christi Smith was also cooking that evening. She told The Associated Press it seemed like a very small snake that had clearly been cut up.

The kitchen uproar made all kids come to see the spectacle. They threw out several other large pots of string beans that were also cooking even before looking inside.

"Who knows where the other parts of that snake were?" Smith saidFriday.

Walker then took the snake head and the empty can back to the grocery store, where the green beans were bought. She took a picture of the snake head to send to Western Family, an Oregon-based food distribution company which eventually halted some shipments of their canned green beans.

Vice President of quality control for Western Family Sharon McFadden said that the company takes this incident very seriously and currently is working with the supplier who produced the green beans to solve it. They are working to find out what happened and how many cans came from the batch.

According to McFadden, shipments of canned green beans from the batch that came from this specific supplier are on hold. She declined to disclose the supplier, saying only that it's based in the Pacific Northwest.

Western Family is managing to find out where the cans from the batch and were shipped. Once they are located, they will be recalled from the stores shelves. The company also promises to address whatever caused the problem.

Walker said she couldnt eat until the next day due to queasiness, but she wasnt mad. She hopes nobody else finds other parts of the snake in their canned green beans. Otherwise, she views it as fun little story for her and the other involved. She is apparently would never serve green beans again in the forseeable future.
