Cabinet Secretariat reminds people to be cautious narcotics, including the 65 new types, to commemorate the2017 International Anti-Narcotics Day.
The day fell on June 26, but the government decided to celebrate it today in Jakarta.

National Anti-Narcotics Agency(BNN) has done a lot of things to uncover and eradicate the use and distribution of illegal drugs, including byupgrading their weapons and adding dogs as their K-9 soldiers to sniff outthe drugs.
From January to June 2017, BNN has uncovered 435 narcotics cases and arrested 597 suspects in which five of them are foreigners.
From the cases, BNN found methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, heroin, cocaine, ketamine, 4chlormethcathinone and synthetic cannabinoid.
According to the report attached on the tweet, Rp 561.4 billion of asset have been confiscated from drug dealers in 2010 to 2016, with Rp 279.1 billion in 2016 only.

There are 800 new drugs in the world and 65 of them have been found in Indonesia.
Approximately 40 to 50 people die every day because of illegal drugs and the state loss is around Rp 72 trillion per year.
Based on 2016 report on drug abuse and trafficking among students in 18 provinces, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Java, South Sumatera, West Sumatera, East Java, and South Sulawesi are the provinces with the largest prevalence rate of students using illegal drugs in Indonesia.
