Solo Batik Carnival (SBC) 2019 officially opened on Saturday (27/7) with a lively parade. This annual event has been held 12 times.
This annual event is organized by the Surakarta City Government. This year SBC carries the theme Suvarnabhumi the Golden of ASEAN.
SBC was held for 3 days and was enlivened by a series of events ranging from exhibitions, parades, to awards.
This event was attended by 130 participants who displayed batik from 11 ASEAN countries. Indonesia displays ancient batik motifs such as slope and kawu. Meanwhile, other countries display costumes decorated with their country's icons.
The parade took place along the Sriwedari Stadium towards Vastenburg Fort. Solo residents and tourists appeared to fill the parade area. Starting with batik from Indonesia and followed by 10 other ASEAN countries.
