Hello Brilio.net friends, here is an inspiring story from a group of productive young people! Come on, let's see!
Initially it was just a rundown and dirty river full of rubbish. But now it has been turned into a fish pond and playground. Local residents named it Bendung Lepen Mricanyouth Kali Gajah Wong. Precisely located in Mrican Village, Giwangan, Umbulharjo, Jogja.
One of the youths from Mrican Village, Andi Nur Wijanarko, explained about the actions he and his friends had taken to change the flow of this rundown river. "The inspiration was actually from my own friends who started out by digging into their own pockets, which here probably amounted to a lot. About a quintal at first it was self-help from the village community. So we basically went door to door," explained Andi.
This change was initiated by caring youth from Bendung Lepen called Mrican Youth. They can use dirty rivers as fish ponds and playgrounds.
"This irrigation canal fish management is a community called Bendung Lepen. A community that was formed from the beginning. After the 9th we formed a structural form community. Then on February 10 we launched the structural form. We fixed this," explained Andi.
Mrican Youth has succeeded in encouraging people to love the environment. Residents work together to clean 60 meters of mud in a month.
"There probably won't be any challenges, sis, there will be minimal challenges. The only challenge is, in the past it was how to get funds to manage this. It used to be, but now, thank God, it turns out to be a tourist attraction for friends. This was the first time my friends used bicycles. "Continue to be comprehensive and develop," said Andi.
Apart from the environment, this effort also improves the economy of the residents. Such as fish harvests and the arrival of tourists.
