Inequality in education is still a heartbreaking issue in Indonesia. On one hand, we see luxurious schools with complete facilities in urban areas. But on the other hand, there are still many schools in the interior whose conditions are very concerning.
This reality was revealed through a video upload by content creator @potretlampungid who visited a remote public elementary school in Lampung Province. Public Elementary School 18 Way Ratai in Pesawaran Regency is a real portrait of the educational gap that still occurs in this country.
The location of this school is remote, requiring 2-3 hours of travel from the center of Bandar Lampung City to reach it. Its proximity to forests and mountains adds to the accessibility challenges for students and teachers.
The road conditions to the school are also not suitable, even four-wheeled vehicles have difficulty reaching the location. As a result, if you visit this school you have to walk to get to school.
The picture shows how difficult it is for children in remote areas to access education. Check out the portraits collected by brilio.net from TikTok @potretlampungid on Thursday (19/9).

This is what an elementary school in a remote area of Lampung looks like. The school board itself looks old, right?

In fact, at a glance, this building is no longer suitable for use for activities.

Just look at the fragile ceiling of the building. The pillars themselves look fragile, they could collapse at any time.

Meanwhile, the floor does not use tiles, it is just muddy ground.

The children are forced to study in unsuitable and makeshift buildings. They still look enthusiastic about following the lessons.
