Based on brilio.net's observations at 12.00 WIB, the atmosphere along Malioboro Street, Jogja looked deserted. This condition is related to the motor vehicle-free Malioboro semi-pedestrian trial today, Tuesday (18/6) starting at 06.00 WIB and planned to end at 21.00 WIB.
In this trial, only public transportation such as TransJogja buses and non-motorized vehicles are allowed to pass, such as bicycles, carriages and pedicabs carrying passengers back and forth.
Reported by brilio.net from merdeka.com, the Head of the DIY Transportation Service, Sigit Sapto Raharjo, said that the semi-pedestrian trial in Malioboro was carried out on Tuesday Wage. Later, every Wage Tuesday, Jalan Malioboro will become a semi-pedestrian area.
"The trial was carried out today (Tuesday Wage). This semi-pedestrian trial is to follow up on a joint decision on the semi-pedestrian area in Malioboro. We will see what the problems are," explained Sigit.
