Brilio.net/en - The latest Jakarta gubernatorial survey conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) revealed a tight race between two candidates.
The survey, conducted between March 31 and April 5 showed that Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno collected 47,9% of the sample vote, leaving the 46,9% for the incumbent Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful with the remaining 5,2% of the respondents still undecided.
"[We] cannot decide who is currently leading. The fact that the opportunity is still alive for both candidates to outperform each other," said SMRC researcher Deni Irfani, Wednesday.
This condition, said Deni, was because of an extreme situation that is still possible to occur or when one of the candidates takes the 4.7% margin of error.
SMRC noted that within a month, the support to Ahok-Djarot rose 3.1%, while Anies-Sandi dropped 2.8% as the image of both candidates was on their radar.
The result revealed that Ahok's impression was better than Anies in terms of leadership, attention to the people, determination and confidence, and transparency. While Anies was eminent in showing friendly and courteus manners.
The research method used was stratified systematic random sampling with 800 respondents and 4.7% margin of error. The data was based on the number of valid samples with only 446 respondents who could be interviewed.
