Brilio.net - Plastic cutting boards are one of the most commonly used kitchen utensils because they are practical and easy to clean. However, when used too often, plastic cutting boards that were originally clean and white can turn black over time. Intensive use and constant contact with various foods can cause stains, odors, and discoloration on plastic cutting boards.
The main cause of blackening of plastic cutting boards is the accumulation of bacteria and fungi on the surface that are not visible. Although it looks clean after washing, the micro pores on the plastic cutting board can be a place for these microorganisms to nest. In addition, the many knife cuts can also worsen this condition, providing more places for dirt and bacteria to hide.

To clean the cutting board, sprinkle baking soda all over the surface. After that, smooth it out using your hands. At this stage, you should use protection or gloves to be safer.
After that, steal the surface of the cutting board with lemon water. A moment later, smooth the lemon water so that it mixes with the baking soda. If so, let it sit for about 30 minutes so that both ingredients are absorbed into the stains on the cutting board.

Next, pour enough vinegar and then rub the cutting board using a wire brush. Do this process continuously until the surface of the cutting board is completely clean. If necessary, you can add more baking soda to the surface of the cutting board to make the stains easier to clean. Then rinse the cutting board with water.
