Brilio.net - Oil stains are one of the biggest challenges in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, especially when the oil stains plastic containers. Oil tends to leave stubborn stains on plastic surfaces, even after being washed many times. This is due to the nature of oil that is not soluble in water and its ability to absorb into the pores of plastic, leaving residue that is difficult to remove.

Plastic containers that are stained with oil often remain oily and smelly, even after being washed with soap and hot water. These oil stains are not only annoying, but can also become a breeding ground for bacteria if not cleaned properly. This problem often makes many people have trouble, because ordinary cleaning methods are not always effective in removing stuck-on oil.

To deal with oil stains on plastic containers, there are several techniques that can be used. One is to soak the container in a mixture of hot water and vinegar or use baking soda as an abrasive to help lift the oil. Using dish soap that is specially formulated to break down fat can also help.

But instead of using soap and special ingredients, you can rely on one food ingredient to eradicate oil stains on plastic containers. This ingredient was once used by the owner of the Instagram account @inshaneats. Reported by BrilioFood from the Instagram account @inshaneats on Wednesday (10/23), he admitted to only using flour.

How to use it, simply rinse the plastic container and remove any remaining food. After that, rub the plastic using a dishwashing sponge until the flour is evenly distributed throughout. This rubbing process also aims to make the flour absorb the oil stains perfectly.

While rubbing, add a little water to make it more even. After that, rinse the plastic container under running water. Make sure you rub it again with your hands so that there is no flour left. That way, the washed plastic container will be more abrasive. When rubbed, there is no oil left that makes the container sticky.

Having been viewed more than 1 million times, this video about the trick to eradicate oil in plastic containers immediately caught the attention of netizens. In the comments column, many other Instagram users gave their responses. Not a few even shared other tricks in cleaning plastic containers.

"Use toilet paper, use a little soap and shake it up," says Instagram @evoninherworld.

"You can also use sodium bicarbonate... it's cheaper," said Instagram @annaamin06.

"This is also good for clothes that have oil stains. First, sprinkle flour on the clothes, wait a few hours, then wash as usual," said Instagram @edwin_tanuwidjaja.

"I used tissue + dish soap then I added water then I covered it with a lid and shook it hard. After that I used a sponge as usual. It worked hehehehehe," wrote the Instagram account @trina.arena.

"Usually just pour hot water, it works immediately!" said Instagram @rox.com.my.
