Brilio.net - Cleanliness of gallon pump hoses is often neglected. However, the hose that pumps the water tends to be damp so bacteria can easily grow in that area. If left untreated, the bacteria or dirt can mix with the water you want to consume, you know. This can certainly increase the risk of health problems if not treated immediately.
One important step that can be taken is to clean the gallon pump hose regularly. Usually some people will use a special brush filled with dish soap to remove moss and dirt in the gallon pump hose. This will make the hose smoother and cleaner.
However, if you don't have a special brush for gallon hoses, you can use another method, like Instagram user @kakak_maryam. Through one of the uploaded videos, he admitted that he only relied on two kitchen ingredients to clean the gallon pump hose.
Easy steps to clean the gallon pump hose.
Reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @kakak_maryam on Tuesday (25/6), the kitchen ingredients in question are vinegar and baking soda. Well, these two ingredients can be very effective in removing stubborn stains stuck to the gallon pump hose. Apart from that, vinegar and baking soda also have antibacterial properties which can kill germs that cause odors in gallon water pumps.

However, please note that these two ingredients must be used separately. First of all, prepare a mixture of 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 500 ml of water in a container or bowl. After that, remove the hose from the dispenser or pump machine. Only then soak it in a bowl filled with vinegar water.
At this stage, it is best to leave the hose for approximately 10 minutes. Basically, the vinegar water will help remove dirt or moss in the gallon pump hose. So even if you don't brush it, the dirt in it can come off by itself.

After soaking in vinegar, immediately throw away the water. Then replace it with plain clean water and put 1 tablespoon of baking soda in it. Soak the hose in baking soda water to neutralize the strong vinegar smell.

The final step, lift and rinse the gallon pump hose again. Don't forget to also rinse the inside of the hose to remove any dirt that is still attached. That way, the gallon pump hose will be cleaner, rougher and more hygienic when used.
