Brilio.net - A clean home reflects a healthy and comfortable home environment. Maintaining a clean home is very important, because in addition to making the home look neat, cleanliness can also reduce the risk of disease due to dust and dirt.
One of the common tools used to clean the house is a mop . There are many types of mops, but the most commonly used is a cotton mop. Cotton mops are known to have good absorbency and are effective in cleaning stains on floor surfaces, including in hard-to-reach corners of the house.
Although it functions as a cleaning tool, a mop also requires regular maintenance so that it can be used longer and work optimally. A mop that is washed regularly will look whiter, cleaner, and maintain its quality.
However, the cleaning process of the mop is often overlooked, even though this tool is used almost every day. As a result, the mop becomes full of stubborn stains and looks dull. Cleaning it with just water or regular detergent is often not enough.
However, there is no need to rush to buy a new mop. There are still other ways that can be tried to deal with the stains. As shared by YouTube user Nurussiyamah, which was reported by BrilioFood on Monday (9/9). This netizen shared a trick to clean a mop by adding two kitchen ingredients.
To clean it, prepare some tools such as a plastic container, a small basin, and a clothes brush. In addition, you also need to prepare ingredients such as dish soap, detergent, citric acid, baking soda, and vinegar. Well, the kitchen ingredients are baking soda and vinegar.

The first step, pour the bleach directly onto the dirty mop without mixing it with water, then scrub it using an old toothbrush. After that, pour hot water into a container and mix in enough dish soap. Soak the mop in the water while pressing it gently. Add detergent to the soaking water, then let the mop soak for 10 minutes.

After soaking, scrub the mop with a brush, then rinse it under running water. Repeat this process several times until the stain begins to fade.

The next step, soak the mop again with hot water mixed with citric acid and let it sit for 10 minutes so that the citric acid can penetrate the mop. After that, sprinkle the mop with baking soda and rub it until clean. After the mop feels clean, rinse it with running water.
After two soakings, the mop that initially looked dull started to become clean again. The YouTube user also stated that this method can make the mop look like new again.
"This way, the mop can be white and clean again like new," said the YouTube user.

For the third soaking, use cold water mixed with vinegar to remove the smell of bleach. To do this, soak the mop in a mixture of water and vinegar for 10 minutes, then wring it out and dry it in the sun.
The result of these three soakings makes the mop that was originally dull clean and white again. This washing process should be done once a month so that the mop fibers are maintained, because this process involves the use of hot water.
