Brilio.net - Intense use of the stove makes it prone to dirt due to splashes of cooking, oil, spices, and dust. This dirt often sticks to the stove body, and unfortunately, many people ignore its cleanliness. If left alone, the dirt can become crusty or rusty, which is difficult to clean even with dish soap.
To overcome rust on the stove body, usually a special method is needed. Many people use cleaning agents such as citric acid or toothpaste, which are believed to be able to remove rust without scratching the surface of the stove.
However, there are other materials that can be used. A YouTube user, SURYAN KOMPOR GAS JAKARTA, who works as a stove repairman, shared how to clean rust with simpler materials in one of his videos.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube SURYAN KMPOR GAS JAKARTA on Friday (11/22), the material is bar soap. This type of soap is considered more effective in removing rust than dish soap or other types of soap. Therefore, the YouTube user chose to use bar soap which is easy to get and affordable.

To make it easier to clean, it is better to remove the stove body from the frame or engine first. According to the YouTube user, this is intended to make the stove body easier to clean optimally. In addition, cleaning the stove body separately can also minimize damage to other stove frames because they are not exposed to water.
"If it is not opened, the iron of the machine will rust, it will jam and will not last long because it is exposed to water," explained YouTube SURYAN KMPOR GAS JAKARTA.

After removing it from the machine, rinse the stove body with water. Then rub the stove with bar soap. Then brush it using a wire brush so that the rust can be removed easily. Do this process until the rust is completely gone.

But if you want to use wire wool, make sure the stove body is made of scratch-resistant steel. If the stove body is made of painted iron, usually the surface can be scratched and the paint will peel off. Well, if the stove body is made of a material that is easily scratched like this, it is better to use a softer brush so that it is safer too.
When cleaning, make sure you brush the inside and gaps of the stove body to get the best possible clean. Once done, rinse immediately with water until the foam is gone. After that, dry the stove body first.

If the stove body is dry, immediately reinstall it to the engine part. In the video, the stove looks shinier and even like new again. How about it? Interested in trying it at home?
