Brilio.net - Mosquitoes are insects that often enter the house. These insects are considered dangerous because they can spread diseases such as dengue fever. If left unchecked, the number of mosquitoes can increase rapidly. Well, keeping the environment free from mosquitoes is important to prevent the spread of disease.

Some people choose to burn mosquito coils to repel these insects. However, the smoke produced by mosquito coils often causes discomfort, coughing, and shortness of breath. According to militerbebastar.com, mosquito coils contain formaldehyde which has the potential to harm health if inhaled too often. Excessive exposure can cause effects such as nausea, coughing, and watery eyes.

To get around this, you can mix your own natural mosquito repellent at home. This was once practiced by TikTok user @ckkhome. In his video upload, this netizen only relies on one type of spice. Curious about the ingredients and how to do it?

As reported by BrilioFood from TikTok @ckkhome on Monday (11/11), one type of spice in question is lemongrass. You don't need much, just use one stalk of lemongrass. No need to wash it first, just burn the lemongrass on the stove.

When the skin looks brown, turn off the stove. Cut the grilled lemongrass into desired sizes. Collect the grilled lemongrass pieces in a small bowl.

Place and place bowls filled with lemongrass pieces in the corners of the house. Because of the aroma of lemongrass, mosquitoes are considered not to dare to approach. As reported by rentokil.com, lemongrass contains geraniol and citronellal which mosquitoes do not like.

This homemade mosquito repellent also does not produce smoke that makes the occupants of the house cough. When the smell is gone, you can replace it with a new piece of lemongrass.
