Brilio.net - After being washed, plates, bowls, spoons, and other kitchen utensils are usually stored in a dish rack. This rack is designed with partitions so that the plates can be placed at an angle, helping the remaining water from washing to drain quickly so that the plates dry quickly.
Dish racks are available in various types and materials, such as plastic, stainless steel, and aluminum, with varying sizes. There are large shelves like cabinets for storing plates and other kitchen utensils, and there are also small shelves that are usually placed near the sink to dry utensils.
Although often used, many people ignore the cleanliness of the dish rack. This rack is prone to moisture, especially those used to dry kitchen utensils. The remaining water that sticks can settle and become moss. If left untreated, this moss can turn into rust, especially on iron or stainless steel racks, making the rack look dirty and unattractive.
But don't worry, if the dish rack at home is already rusty, there is a special trick to eradicate it. This trick was once shared by a YouTube user named Nurul Ogara. In his upload titled 'Tips on How to Remove Rust on Stainless Steel Dish Racks', he revealed an effective ingredient used to remove the rust.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Nurul Ogara, Thursday (11/21), the YouTube user initially displayed his dish rack. It appears that the dish rack for draining kitchen utensils is full of rust on almost all sides.

Well, to remove the rust, he also used toothpaste. The method is quite easy, apply toothpaste to the rusty parts. After that, rub it with a rough wire brush. This toothpaste contains fluoride which can remove stubborn stains, including rust.

Keep rubbing until the rust is lifted. Once done, then rinse the dish rack under running water. In the video, the washed dish rack looks cleaner and shinier. The rust that originally filled all parts of it is completely gone.

Now, before you are ready to use it again, make sure the dish rack is dry. You can dry it in the sun or wipe the rack with a clean cloth. Also, don't forget to clean the sink area so that it is not too damp. This is certainly to prevent mold and rust from appearing again on the dish rack.
