Brilio.net - Oven racks made of iron are often exposed to dripping cake batter or overflowing food when baked. These drippings can turn into burnt stains that are difficult to remove because they are exposed to hot temperatures. Usually, cleaning these stains requires a lot of energy and time to scrape or brush them.
However, there is an easier and less tiring way as shared by a user on the YouTube account Clean My Space. This method not only saves energy, but also uses ingredients that are generally already available at home, so you don't have to bother looking for them in stores.
"I still had a little bit of scrubbing to do, but it wasn't difficult, it was more like 'please give me a good wipe'," he explained, as quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Clean My Space on Sunday (11/24).
Before cleaning the oven rack, there are two cleaning agents to choose from, namely detergent or dishwashing soap. The owner of the YouTube account Clean My Space explained that compared to detergent, dishwashing soap is said to provide more satisfying results after being applied to the oven rack.
"I did find that the dishwasher method worked easier and if I had to compare the two racks, that one came out slightly shinier," he said.

The method is, put 1 cup or small glass of dish soap into a large container or basin. Then, fill in enough water and stir until it foams. Put the oven rack into the basin of soapy water until it is completely submerged, then let it sit for 12 hours or 1 night.

The next day, the oven rack can be scrubbed with a cloth until all the burnt spots are gone. If it feels clean, immediately rinse the oven rack using running water and dry it. The oven rack will be shiny again and ready to be used for baking.
