Brilio.net - A teapot is an important kitchen utensil used to make hot drinks such as wedang, coffee, milk, and tea. A teapot is often used to boil water which is then used to brew the drink. Among the various types of teapots, those made of stainless steel are more popular because of their affordable price and ability to conduct heat quickly, so that water boils faster.
However, stainless steel teapots have a weakness, namely that they are more easily dirty than clay or ceramic teapots. Over time, the outside of the teapot can turn black. This is caused by the stove fire directly hitting the surface of the teapot, leaving black burnt spots. If not cleaned, these stains can cover the entire surface of the teapot.
These scorch marks are difficult to remove and regular dish soap is not effective enough to restore the kettle to its original appearance. Therefore, a special method is needed to clean scorch marks on the outside of the kettle.
Luckily, a YouTube user named Rachmah once shared a trick for cleaning a water jug. Instead of using soap, Rachmah chose to use kitchen ingredients. As reported by BrilioFood on Friday (11/22), the kitchen ingredient is baking soda. According to her, baking soda is more effective in removing burnt stains on the outside of the jug.
The method is also very easy. First, rinse the teapot that you want to clean. After rinsing, sprinkle baking soda on the surface of the teapot, especially in areas full of burnt spots.

If so, the next step is to rub the stain. In the video, Rachmah uses a wire soap that has previously been given a little dish soap. Keep rubbing until the stain fades and disappears.

Reported from treehugger.com, baking soda is a form of natural salt made by mixing carbon, sodium, hydrogen, and oxygen molecules. The mixture of these ingredients produces a base compound, which can be used as a multipurpose cleaner and is strong enough to remove stains. Therefore, baking soda is often used to clean kitchen utensils with stubborn stains, such as this burnt kettle.

Well, if the stain is gone, immediately rinse the teapot in running water. And sure enough, after cleaning, the teapot looks really shiny. So shiny, the appearance of the teapot looks like new again, you know.
If you find a similar condition of the water jug, you can apply this trick that Rachmah did. It is more practical and effective than just using dish soap. That way, you can still use the old jug with a look that always looks new.
