Brilio.net - Song creator Richard Kyoto has sent a summons against singer Hetty Koes Endang regarding alleged copyright infringement of the song 'Kasih'. Richard suspected that Hetty had performed a song he wrote at a concert in Malaysia without permission.
Not only that, Richard and his attorney conveyed several points regarding the alleged copyright infringement committed by Hetty Koes Endang. Apart from singing the song without permission, Hetty is suspected of changing the lyrics of the song without the permission of Richard as the composer.
"Then secondly, changing some of the poetry or song lyrics. What was changed was originally 'Love, believe in me, my life and death, is only for you'. Then it was changed to 'Kasih, believe in me, my love is only for you'. So life and death "My love was changed into my love," explained Purwadi, Richard Kyoto's attorney, as reported by brilio.net from merdeka6.com, Thursday (18/7).
Regarding this matter, Hetty Koes Endang also opened her voice. Accompanied by her manager and husband, Yusuf Faishal, Hetty said that the summons sent by Richard had the wrong address. According to him, the summons should have been addressed to the concert organizers.

"The subpoena has the wrong address, they should subpoena Universal Music Malaysia and Siti Nurhaliza Production. We ourselves don't know the exact contents of the subpoena," said Yusuf in a virtual interview.
As well as the publisher who recorded and distributed the DVD of Hetty's concert singing the song. In this case, it is Siti Nurhaliza, as the organizer.
"The topic is already in the wrong address, they have to go to Malaysia. At least to Siti Nurhaliza Production as the committee, Universal Music Malaysia, and the publisher there. That's the right thing, not to the singer," Yusuf added.
Throughout Hetty Koes Endang's career as a singer, Yusuf said that he had sung thousands of songs on stage. During that time, his wife never had problems with licensing matters. Because, this has become the responsibility of the organizers. Including when he appeared at KonserSatu Suara Volume 2, in Malaysia in 2015.
"There is no permission from the songwriter, we are dealing with WAMI. Thousands of mothers have sung and have nothing to do with the songwriter. So WAMI handles all matters regarding the songs on stage," explained Yusuf.
Regarding licensing for song use, Yusuf confirmed that Malaysia also has a collective management institution that handles copyright matters. He said that Siti Nurhaliza, as the organizer, had taken care of the permits.

"The licensing for using the song has been taken care of by Siti together with MACP (Music Author Copyright Protection). So it's not the singer who takes care of the licensing. The system there is the same as Indonesia, so we don't have anything to do with the composer and songwriter. So you could say, Richard's summons "That's the wrong address," said Yusuf.
Meanwhile, Hetty revealed that she had spoken to Siti Nurhaliza regarding this subpoena. Siti was the one who invited Hetty to appear in Malaysia, in the One Voice Concert Volume 2 in 2015.
"Yes, he handed it over to Universal Music Malaysia. There was no communication (with Richard) or no communication at all," said Hetty Koes Endang.
Hetty ensured that this subpoena did not interfere with her activities. Because the senior singer tried to remain calm when facing him.
"Thank God, Mother has so far responded calmly, the important thing is just praying. Let's work together to find a solution," he said casually.
