Brilio.net/en - In honour of Jon Favreaus The Jungle Book being released in theaters Disney has released images of the animal characters on the movie paired with their actors. The movie is an all-new, live-action/CGI epic adventure reimagining the 1967 cartoon of the same name, produced also by Disney that is based on Rudyard Kiplings work.

It centers on a man-cub Mowgli (Neel Sethi) who is raised by wolves in the forest. He had to leave the jungle due to the fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) who bears the scars of Man, and promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. "Shere Khan reigns with fear," Elba says of his role. "He terrorizes everyone he encounters because he comes from a place of fear."

Cast away from the only home he knew, Mowgli embarks on a journey to find himself. In turn he has found new friends in his life adventure. As we already know, Neel Sethi had to act completely by himself along the movie in the green room studio, as the other characters are animals and created using CGI technology. The animal characters use the voice talents of Hollywoods favourite actors such as Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyongo, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken and Giancarlo Esposito.

Johansson voices the python Kaa, with a seducing, hypnotizing voice and glare. "Kaa seduces and entraps Mowgli with her storytelling," she says. "She's the mirror into Mowgli's past. The way she moves is very alluring, almost coquettish."
Lupita Nyong'o, who also recently starred on Broadways Eclipsed, voices the mother wolf Raksha. "She is the protector, the eternal mother," she says. "The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn't originally hers but one she's taken for her own."

Sir Ben Kingsley voices Mowgli's panther mentor Bagheera. "Bagheera is Mowgli's adoptive parent," he says. "His role in Mowgli's life is to educate, to protect and to guide. My Bagheera was militaryhe's probably a colonel. He is instantly recognizable by the way he talks, how he acts and what his ethical code is."

Christopher Walken voices the smooth-talking ape King Louie who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower, fire. Giancarlo Esposito voices the wolf Akela and Bill Murray voices the free-spirited bear Baloo. Unfortunately there is no portrait of them in the series.
