The Cibinong Religious Court has just granted the divorce suit filed by Tengku Dewi against Andrew Andika. This means that after 7 years together, they are now officially divorced.
Tengku Dewi's attorney, Nickolas Dominique, stated that the panel of judges had granted all of his client's requests, including regarding child custody and maintenance. However, even though custody fell into Tengku Dewi's hands, the panel of judges still ordered that Andrew Andika be given access to meet their child.
"The divorce decree has been issued. Child custody is now the responsibility of Tengku Dewi. However, Andrew is still allowed to visit his child without any restrictions," explained Nickolas at the Cibinong Religious Court, West Java, on Wednesday (18/12).
During the divorce process, Tengku Dewi showed kindness to Andrew, even picking him up after undergoing drug rehabilitation. Nickolas added that the divorce trial process went quickly because Andrew agreed to the divorce suit during mediation, so he was no longer present at the trial.
"The process is faster and easier because he has agreed, all that's left is to carry it out," he added.
In addition to custody, the panel also granted the request for maintenance filed by Tengku Dewi. However, Nickolas could not yet reveal the amount of maintenance that must be paid at this time. "The maintenance will definitely be paid, but we will convey the exact amount later," he said.
After this verdict, the panel of judges gave Andrew 14 days to file an appeal if he had objections. "According to the procedure, he was given 14 days to appeal. If there is no appeal within that time, then the verdict will become final," Nickolas explained.
