Famous singer, Sherina Munaf , has just taken a big step by filing for divorce against her husband, Baskara Mahendra, at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Interestingly, in the lawsuit, Sherina did not include demands regarding marital property.
South Jakarta Religious Court Public Relations, Suryana, confirmed that the lawsuit filed by Sherina was purely for divorce. "Yes, just a divorce lawsuit . Purely a divorce lawsuit. So there is no accumulation of other lawsuits. Just a divorce, if we look at the lawsuit briefly. There is no (property)," he explained.
The panel of judges has been determined and the first trial is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2025, with a mediation agenda that must be attended by both parties.
"(Sherina Munaf and Baskara Mahendra) just got married in 2020, not even four years (of marriage)," Suryana said. "The first trial agenda is peace efforts," he added.
Suryana also added that Sherina Munaf's party had registered the divorce suit via e-court , which shows the ease of the current legal process.
If mediation is unsuccessful, the trial will continue with a more formal agenda. In the session with a mediation agenda, the singer of "Take a Closer Look" and Baskara Mahendra were required to attend.
"Later, the trial will be held after the peace efforts fail. Then, the answers will be electronically. Mandatory (attendance, both parties). In the Law, attendance is indeed mandatory, because it is mandatory to reconcile first," said Suryana.
"After completing the questions and answers, they (Sherina Munaf and Baskara Mahendra) are required to be present again during the evidence. There are two moments when the parties must be present," he concluded.
At the time of writing, neither Sherina Munaf nor Baskara Mahendra had made an official statement regarding the divorce suit.
