Chikita Meidy , a former child artist, responded to the report filed by her friend, Shilda Oktavia Rosa, regarding alleged defamation . The report was officially filed at Polda Metro Jaya on September 12.

In a statement, Chikita, whose full name is Chika Cecilia Oktaviany, expressed her disappointment. She felt that this problem could have been resolved in a better way, without having to involve legal channels.

"It's very unfortunate that something like this was not discussed first, I found out from the media. I'm honestly very disappointed because I think this could have been discussed properly," said Chikita when met in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, on September 27, 2024.

Chikita also added that she needed time to understand how far this report would develop. "So, that's why I need to be silent, to know how far this report goes," she explained.

Chikita emphasized that her statement in a live stream on TikTok regarding her business suffering losses due to Shilda's actions was a fact supported by evidence that had been submitted to her legal team.

"What I conveyed in the live streaming is a fact, based on related evidence that I have submitted to my legal team," he stressed.

According to Chikita, she felt like a victim in this situation, especially because her skincare business suffered a huge loss. However, she chose not to discuss the details of the old wounds she felt.

"It sounds funny, right, to feel like your good name has been defamed when in fact this alleged defamation is being bombarded at me. I don't need to discuss old wounds anymore, but in the end, maybe my friends can see the many losses left behind," he said.

Adam Barkah Setiadi, Chikita's attorney, added that his client did not have any intentional element in mentioning the defendant's name while doing a TikTok live on September 6, 2024. According to Adam, the alleged defamation report that was filed did not have a strong basis.

"Because what he expressed is a fact, not a hoax. What my friends know for sure is that UUITE is a slanderer, then someone explains something, immediately mentions someone's name, it is immediately considered defamation, it's not like that," concluded Adam.
