Not only was the prison sentence increased, the fine that Ammar had to pay also changed. The Jakarta High Court set a fine of Rp 800 million, which was lower than the initial verdict of Rp 1 billion. However, if Ammar is unable to pay the fine, he will serve a substitute sentence of three months.

"A fine of Rp. 800 million with the provision that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with a prison sentence of three months," the verdict read.

Responding to this decision, Ammar Zoni's attorney, Jon Mathias, said that his client had accepted the decision with resignation.

"We have been informed of the verdict, and Ammar has accepted the outcome," Jon Mathias said via text message. This shows that Ammar accepts the reality even though it is not easy to live with.

When asked further, Jon Mathias stated that Ammar Zoni planned to file a counter cassation memorandum. "We will prepare a counter cassation memorandum because the prosecutor has filed a cassation," Jon added.
