Brilio.net - Comedian Pandji Pragiwaksono is ready to hold his latest stand-up comedy tour titled Mens Rea. The plan is for this tour to be held from April to August 2025. In the first period of sales which opened on August 10, 2024, Comika Event as the promoter of the tour was able to sell out 9 out of 11 available cities; namely Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bogor, Semarang, Balikpapan, Medan and Denpasar.

The fiercest ticket fight occurred at the Jakarta city show, where DIAMOND category tickets priced at Rp1,700,000 were fully booked in 5 minutes and sold out in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, GOLD and SILVER categories priced at Rp550,000 and Rp350,000 respectively were fully booked in 15 minutes, and sold out in less than 20 minutes.
The remaining categories, PLATINUM, RUBY, SAPPHIRE, and EMERALD, sold out in less than two days. In total, Comika Event sold 4,000 tickets for the Mens Rea show in Jakarta alone.
"I am very happy to see the enthusiasm of the Indonesian people not only towards my show, but also towards stand-up comedy shows that discuss politics," said Pandji Pragiwaksono in a written statement received by Brilio.net on Tuesday (20/8).
Although satisfying, Comika Event's staff must still prepare for the next, more challenging sales strategy. Event Manager of Comika Event, Wirsad Hafiz, is grateful for the hard work of the talent, namely Pandji Pragiwaksono and Comika in preparing for the first period of ticket sales. Especially the promotion and marketing strategies that were formulated together, with many considerations and calculations so that they could reach a wider potential audience.
"But of course, we cannot be complacent because we still have to prepare for the next sales period to reach 10,000 offline viewers," said Wirsad Hafiz.
Mens Rea itself is a form of IP (intellectual property) development from Pandji Pragiwaksono whose main discussion is politics. In his tenth stand-up comedy show, Pandji will be more outspoken in criticizing and will not hesitate to mention politicians.
This image has been built since some time ago by appearing on celebrities' Youtube channels and bringing bolder political discourse. Pandji Pragiwaksono himself is a comedian who has held 9 special shows, the most recent of which was Komoidoumenoi Jakarta held at Istora Senayan, attracting more than 7,000 offline viewers and almost 3,000 online viewers.
For Mens Rea Jakarta which will be held at Indonesia Arena, Comika Event plans to attract 10,000 viewers offline. Not only that, there are three premium ticket categories in the form of special rooms, namely ROYAL BOX, SKY BOX, and SUITE ROOM, which are provided for a viewing experience with maximum comfort.
"The art of stand-up comedy has become increasingly high. ROYAL BOX, SKY BOX, and SUITE ROOM are proof that stand-up comedy has been accepted by the public as premium entertainment," said Pandji.
