Brilio.net - Deddy Corbuzier is back in the public spotlight after his video reprimanding students went viral on social media. In the video, he criticized a school child who openly said the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program menu was not tasty.
Deddy's statement was considered by some to be too harsh, especially when he expressed his frustration openly. The video sparked a wide debate about the nutrition of free food and the style of educating children.
Deddy's firm stance has instead resulted in sharp criticism from various groups. He was considered not to understand the conditions of other students and was considered excessive in responding to complaints about the taste of food from the government program.
Deddy explained that his anger arose after watching a video of a student complaining about the chicken on the MBG program lunch menu. According to him, such criticism was inappropriate for a free meal program provided for the benefit of the community.

"This video is actually for subscribers only, but I can't stand to get angry. So regarding the issue of free nutritious food, there was a video that I saw where a child said that his chicken wasn't tasty. It wasn't tasty, your head wasn't tasty," said Deddy Corbuzier, quoted by brilio.net from Instagram @mastercorbuzier on Saturday (18/1).
As a father, Deddy said he always educates his son, Azka, not to be picky about food. He admitted that he often takes Azka to filming in various locations and makes sure his son eats from the food provided for all the crew.
"My son, Azka. Since the beginning, he has been following me around filming everywhere, and I have fed him with the boxed food that is there for everyone. And if he says to me, 'Dad, it's not tasty, I want something else', I slap him. Eat this, it's healthy. Everyone eats like this," he said.
According to Deddy, educating children not to be spoiled is important, especially in appreciating food. He feels that criticism like that of the student shows a disrespectful attitude towards the government's efforts to provide a free meal program.
"Never complained, good or bad, eaten by him. So you complain? How rich are you?" said Deddy Corbuzier.
Meanwhile, his wife, Sabrina Chairunnisa, also spoke about the importance of the MBG program for some students. She told how difficult the economic conditions were in her childhood which made her only able to buy simple snacks while at school.

"I used to buy snacks for only a thousand, while buying lunch must be Rp2,500 to Rp3,000. So all I could buy was jelly drinks, because they cost Rp750. What's the point? Delaying hunger, you'll know if it's relevant. So if someone says it's not important, it's because it's not relevant, it's better to keep quiet," said Sabrina.
This controversy became a widespread discussion on social media. Many regretted Deddy's attitude which was considered arrogant. The statement was also widely commented on pros and cons by netizens.
"Perhaps your tongue is not used to eating chicken, or it's your first time trying it," said @alamination13.
"He didn't say it wasn't tasty, he said it tasted weird," defended @imot_dtt.
"Apple to apple, uncle, just from the price of the ingredients, there's already a difference between boxed rice and free nutritious meals, or not wearing clothes so you don't catch a cold," said @lutfisyx.
"I agree, uncle. I used to go to school without any pocket money and endure being hungry before coming home to eat. That's what made me eat whatever I could," said @rainx_1929.
"Does this mean that national programs cannot be criticized? In fact, it is an honest review from several school children, when children talk, they are usually honest, if it is delicious, it is delicious, if it is not, it is not, because if it is not delicious, it is said to be delicious, there will be no evaluation of the program. And those who say it is not delicious are also likely children who are usually given delicious food by their parents, which means their parents are well-off and likely pay quite a lot of taxes, remember that the program is taken from taxes. You say it is healthy? There are people who are poisoned by that program, you say it is healthy," said @tommy_adam11.
