Brilio.net - The Indonesian Festival Committee (FFI) for the 20242026 period has just been elected. With Ario Bayu as chairman, he announced that the theme of the 2024 FFI event would be "Merandai Cakrawala Indonesian Cinema".

Through the theme "Merandai Cakrawala Indonesian Cinema," FFI 2024 hopes to become a space that continues to revive collaboration based on the spirit of equality in building a creative, innovative, inclusive and productive Indonesian film ecosystem.

The horizons of Indonesian cinema are continually expanding as a result of the struggles of filmmakers and developments in the global environment that surrounds them.

Therefore, the journey to explore (exploring) the horizons of Indonesian cinema in order to achieve perfection and excellence must be framed by efforts to embrace the wisdom of the past, embrace the present and shape the future.

At the launch of FFI 2024, the new management of the FFI Committee for the 20242026 period was introduced, chaired by Ario Bayu with the details as below:

- Ario Bayu (Committee Chair)
- Prilly Latuconsina (Chief Executive)
- Budi Irawanto (Head of Judging)
- Mandy Marahimin (Chair of the Secretariat)
- Gita Fara (Head of Finance and Business Development)
- Pradetya Novitri (Head of Events)
- Nazira C. Noer (Head of Event Public Relations)
- Michael Ratnadwijanti Head of Judging Public Relations).

The fields in the committee are filled with professionals who have track records and achievements in their respective professions which are still closely related to the world of film.

The 20242026 FFI Committee is committed to encouraging the collaboration process so that it can find new opportunities and potential in the Indonesian film industry. Collaboration is the soul and main foundation of FFI 2024 and the key to improving the Indonesian film industry in the eyes of the world.

Indonesian cinema never stops at a certain point, instead continuing to explore the thematic riches, artistic boundaries and technical intricacies offered by technology. "This is actually the horizon of Indonesian cinema as well as the context for the blossoming of the Indonesian film ecosystem," said Ario Bayu.

"Through the theme "Merandai Cakrawala Indonesian Cinema", the Committee wants FFI 2024 to move the direction of cinema forward, while learning from the past history of our cinema, and being open to all new potential possibilities in its current development," continued the Chair of the FFI 20242026 Committee, Ario Bayu .

It seems that FFI 2024 will not be much different from FFI 2023 in terms of its implementation concept. This festival will begin with data collection and selection of films, recommendation selection involving associations, selection of nominees and selection of winners, which takes place every year in November.

In terms of judging, FFI 2024 will use a hybrid system that combines a voting system with a final jury assessment, as was implemented during the Reza Rahadian period with Garin Nugroho as Head of Judging.

"Thus, the judging system which involves professional associations and the Image Academy upholds the principles of democracy and respect for the professionalism and dedication of filmmakers. Meanwhile, the role of the Final Jury in determining the winner places the film as a cultural product that is assessed qualitatively. "Meanwhile, public involvement can foster participation and broaden appreciation for Indonesian films," said Head of the 2024-2026 FFI Judging Division, Budi Irawanto.

Furthermore, Budi emphasized that the judging system is part of a joint effort to further strengthen the film ecosystem to make it more solid and unified.

Meanwhile, the Final Jury Members will be selected by the 20242026 FFI Committee based on input from professional film associations.
