Brilio.net - The drug case trial involving Ammar Zoni was held again at the West Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (30/7). This time, Ammar's agenda was to listen to the response from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) regarding last week's plea or defense note.

Prosecutor Azam Akhmad Akhsya responded to Ammar's defense note regarding the agricultural business he ran with Akri, who was a drug dealer. The prosecutor considered that Ammar Zoni lied about the business.

"In your defense, point F, the statement to the defendant shows that the defendant is convoluted and dishonest, where on page 13 the defendant denies evidence of transfers in WA (WhatsApp) conversations," said Azam Akhmad Akhsya as the prosecutor in the courtroom.

"However, on page 14 the defendant actually admitted the transfer evidence in the WA conversation which was the result of business, not the result of selling crystal methamphetamine," added Azam.

The prosecutor added that in the conversation between Ammar Zoni and Akri there was no discussion about the agricultural business, but rather drugs. Ammar is even suspected of using a password to run the business.

"In the WA conversation between witness Akri and the defendant there was no nutmeg business conversation, instead there was a discussion of narcotics using coded language, namely fish and vegetables," he said.

Therefore, the public prosecutor asked the panel of judges to reject all of the arguments in Ammar's defense note and hand down a verdict as stated in the demands read out in the previous trial. In this case, the prosecutor asked the judge to sentence Ammar Zoni to 12 years in prison and a fine of IDR 2 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

"The prosecutor asked the panel of judges to reject all of Ammar Zoni's plea arguments and impose a sentence in accordance with his party's demands," explained Azam.

"Sentencing M Ammar Akbar or Ammar Zoni in the form of imprisonment for 12 years minus the period of detention he has already served. With an order to remain in detention and pay a fine of Rp. 2 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison," he continued.
