Brilio.net - Ammar Zoni is back on trial for the drug abuse case that caught him. At the trial which was scheduled to read out the charges, Aditya Zoni's brother was sentenced to 12 years in prison with a fine of IDR 2 billion, subsidiary to 6 months.
In an e-court trial at the West Jakarta District Court, Ammar was deemed to have violated Article 114 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
"Everything is in accordance with the law, the indictment is Article 114 paragraph 1. 12 years is still possible," said Khareza Mokhamad Thayzar after the trial at the Bara Jakarta District Court, as reported by merdeka6.com, Tuesday (16/7).
The Public Prosecutor, Khareza Mokhamad Thayzar, revealed the considerations that led to Ammar finally being sentenced to 12 years in prison. It was stated, based on the facts at trial, that the defendant was not only an addict but also involved in narcotics trafficking.

"The consideration is that he is a capital provider in the business of buying and selling narcotics. So Ammar Zoni is included in the category of addict, who is also involved in narcotics distribution based on the legal facts of the trial," added Khareza Mokhamad Thayzar.
According to witness statements and evidence presented at trial, it was proven that Ammar Zoni had transferred a sum of money to Akri for the narcotics buying and selling business. The prosecutor also showed evidence of the transfer and conversation during the trial.
"If I remember correctly, that was the statement 2 weeks ago, there was Rp. 12 million, there was Rp. 5 million and there was another Rp. 5 million in cash. There is proof of the transfer, in the WhatsApp conversation between Ammar Zoni and Akri Uhakay. We have shown that at the trial," he said.
During the trial it was also revealed that Ammar Zoni had also received proceeds from the narcotics buying and selling business, as previously circulated. In this case, there are two benefits that the soap opera star Anak Langit gets.

"So from the proceeds of buying and selling drugs, Ammar Zoni's profit was divided in two. The first was promised for IDR 5 million, the second profit was to get 5 grams of methamphetamine for free. The 5 grams of methamphetamine has been received. Now what is in evidence now is crystal methamphetamine from the promised proceeds of 5 gram," he explained.
The demands that Ammar Zoni must face are even heavier than those of his colleague, Akri, who is also involved in the same case. Khareza revealed that Ammar Zoni was sentenced to 12 years, while Akri was sentenced to 10 years.
"The reason why Ammar Zoni did not admit his actions as a financier was complicated. Meanwhile, Akri admitted that he did not complicate things and was honest. That is our consideration as to why Akri's demands are lower," he said further.
