Brilio.net - After becoming famous through several film titles, Joko Anwar returned to work on a horror film entitled Siksa Kubur. This film is also his debut work at the Come and See Pictures production house. Different from previous films, Siksa Kubur presents a heart-touching story and reminds the audience about the importance of communication, understanding and family warmth.
Not only does it give a scary impression, this film also presents scenes that will trigger the audience to self-reflect. Apart from that, this film also tells an in-depth story about what humans have done while living in the world.
Joko Anwar and producer Tia Hasibuan worked on Siksa Kubur by focusing on the characters and story, so that this film is a touching horror film. Not only that, this film is also a reminder of the importance of being present for family members.

This film tells the story of a character named Sita whose parents were victims of a suicide bombing. Since that incident, Sita has become distrustful of religion. Sita has only one goal in life, namely to find the most sinful person and when that person dies, Sita wants to go into his grave to prove that the Torture of the Grave does not exist and religion is not real.
However, of course there are dire consequences for those who do not believe. Through the concept of storytelling that is not patronizing, viewers can discuss with their families about the film Siksa Kubur. The universality value in the film also means that this work can be enjoyed by all audiences.

"This film talks about the loss of a very meaningful family member. Hopefully Siksa Kubur can be a reflective moment not only personally but together. It will be a moment to remember what we have done to our parents and siblings. And what we have done "do it all this time. This is a collective reflection for the family," said Reza Rahadian.
In line with Reza, Joko Anwar also hopes that the film Siksa Kubur can be food for reflection. Through this film, he also wants to invite the audience to reflect on what they have done so far.
"Hopefully the screening of the film Siksa Kubur at the time of Eid can be food for thought for all of us. So far, it is possible that we have normalized sin. Through Siksa Kubur, we are invited to question, are we really religious and believe in God? Let's ask ourselves- each," added Joko Anwar.
This film by the production house Come and See Pictures will soon be shown in cinemas just in time for Eid, starting April 11 2024. Keep up with the latest information and developments on the film Siksa Kubur on Instagram @comeandseepictures.
