1. The Revenant

If you havent already seen this Oscar winner, now is the time. This movie finally got Leo his Oscar for Best Actor (link here for the article we did!) and is directed by consecutive two time Academy Award winner Alejandro Gonzlez Irritu. Its a historical adventure film about a man surviving the harsh elements of nature, and youll finally understand what all those bear memes are about.

2. Creed

The spin off and sequel for everyones childhood favourite sport star Rocky Balboa, the film features Sylvester Stallone in a reprisal. Yet this time he isnt the fighter, but the coach. To add spice to the movie, hes coaching the son of his long time rival. This is a great film to enjoy with your guy friends (link to guy friends article here) over some freshly popped popcorn.

3. Embrace of the Serpent

This is the flick to see for all you art house junkies. Its a pretty violent and psychedelic film about the colonization of the Amazon. Shot in black and white, Colombian director Ciro Guerra received international praise for his ficitionalized portrayal of the colonization and was inspired by two true stories of researches who went to study the indigenous population and their medicines in the early 20th century.

4. Filth

Filth is the unsung hero of this weeks list. The 2013 Scottish crime drama has a serious twinge of that classic UK black comedy weve come to enjoy. The story follows Bruce Patterson, as portrayed by James McAvoy, who suffers from Borderline Personality disorder; he is a scheming, manipulative, misanthropic man who spends his time indulging in drugs, alcohol, sexually abusive relationships, and "the games" his euphemism for the myriad foul plots he hatches directed at workmates. The story unfolds in the most unexpected of ways and will leave you guessing until the very last minute.

5. Trainwreck

Rounding out this weeks must see movies is a lighthearted romantic comedy starring everyones favourite funny girl Amy Schumer. Loosely based on her own life, the story follows magazine writer Amy on her many romantic encounters and eventually her sweet romance. Its a feel good comedy that will leave you in stitches.
