Brilio.net/en - There's this Indonesian saying that goes "sedikit-sedikit, lama-lama menjadi bukit."This means that tiny efforts, when done consistently, will eventually pile up into a mountain. A man named Setiadi in Depok, West Java, took these words of wisdom a little too literally when he showed up with buckets of Rp 1,000 coins to purchase a Rp33 million Honda CBR motorbike recently.

Setiadi saidhe started collecting coins about five years ago, inspired by his parents who managed to build his family a home by collecting stones from a nearby riverbank. In a report by Merdeka, Setiadi said he had initially intended to offer the coins to kids during the month of Ramadan, but he carried on with the savings and eventually collected more than he had set out to do.

Aside from the changeI receive when buyingsomething, I also got the coins from my friends as well as my wife and children's contributions," he said. "In exchange, I gave them banknotes with the same value. That wasn't easy because there were times when I was short and had to pay them back later. I even once swapped my entire holiday allowance with Rp 1,000 coins."

He kept the coins used in buckets and dipped them in car oil so as to make sure they remain out of his and anyone else's touch. As the years go by, the coins he collected totaled more than Rp32 million.

He initally had a hard time finding a dealer who would take his payment, but the eight dealer he contacted agreed and accepted his coins.
